Hi, I have the aster,Lateriflorus in its second year.I have put an obelisk on the plant. was this the right thing to do? for its height.

Might be better to use the semicircular plant supports which allow the plant to spread more naturally from half way up without it falling over. Works on my asters.

Hi, welcome to GoY, it depends on the height of the obelisk, this plant has slender stems and spreading branches, so does need support as it grows to about 4 ft, so if the obelisk is much taller it could look a bit odd, Derek.
