Yet another plant ID please!
Those tiny white balls ARE growing on it! Lol
Sorry but this is the best I can do for a close up. They are just little balls at the mo.

How intriguing - can't really see the flowers properly, they just look like white berries in the pic - maybe they'll open up a bit more, but a close up would be good. Not convinced its a Skimmia

Sorry but that's as good as I can do with my "all singing, all dancing" camera phone (shame it can't take good photos instead of singing and dancing! Lol)

Not much better really, but they still just look like berries - hopefully they'll open up over the next few days into something more recognisable.

Could it be a Pyracantha ?

could it be Arbutus unedo??

Pyracantha in bud was my first thought, indeed the young growth looks like it too.

I thought that but couldnt see any thorns though so i dismissed it.

Morning all and thank you for your help with yet another plant ID. I haven't seen any thorns on this plant, does all Pyracantha have thorns?
I did Google your answers in the wee hours of this morning and the nearest I could find to the leaf shape was Stevebuk's suggestion of Arbutus unedo but obviously it's white and the "strawberry plant" isn't?

I'm holding off till those flowers open... there are so many white flowered shrubs, and as this one's been cut down to nothing, shape and form won't give us many clues!

sorry i thought that they were berries!

ian the flowers are though..

Well if that's the case I'm putting my money on your suggestion Steve! Mind you I don't have a lot of money to start with! Lol

Arbutus unedo flowers either in bud or fully open hang down in nodding clusters very like a Pieris.
This is I am pretty sure a young Pyracantha. The thorns are developed towards the end of the season on side shoots so would not be formed just yet.
My money is still on that. :-)

ian, do you have a better shot of the flowers as they look like balls or is it just because the picture was taken from the top.
