In the Pacific Northwest, treed garden mixed sun and shade;Until our budget lets us take out a 7 ft diameter rooted mound we need to plant a ground cover; will English ivy work in, around and over the exposed roots for a nice cover; can it survive relatively shallow planting? We don't want to feed it as this will feed the roots.
