I bought a young magnolia in spring. It now has lots of holes in the leaves as if something has eaten it.any ideas what it might be and if it will recover?

It will be ok next year as the leaves will fall off in the autumn. as for what has made the holes it could be one of many. Irregular nibbles abround the leaf edge suggests vine weevil, neat circular holes is leaf cutter bees. etc.
