Hi all, forgot to add in my rose question only got two flowers last year not many new leaves at all, looks as though its been in the ground for years looks like a bare stick. Thanks for your help guys.

Yes, feed and water it well and make sure it has some clear space around it . If you planted it where a rose has been before, it will not do very well unless you change the soil. I'm no expert but this is what I've learned on this site and my roses are gorgeous!

I should have added that I garden on thick wealden clay and I should have asked whether your other roses are doing well?
Some roses are definitely stronger and more prolific than others. I can recommend 'A Shropshire Lad' which always produces masses of bloom.
