I bought an Arisaema costatum bulb and grew it in a pot 2 years ago. It grew so tall that i had to stake it. The flower was magnificent, just like a cobra's head. I have since found out that they should be grown out doors in the garden. Can any one tell me what groing conditions it will need. Thank you all.

and put some grit under the bulb - they do not like having soggy bottoms. Prefer neutral to acidic soil

Thank you both Owdboggy and Moon grower. My garden becomes quite boggy in the winter but i think the bottom of the garden stays drier so will try it there and see if it survives for next spring.

Good luck Rohima - they are wonderful plants, we've got quite a colony in the garden.
