Thanks, I thought it might be, now confirmed. Is it classed as a weed, it is growing in a border on my allotment, very pretty flower. Is it something that can get out of control easily?

Yes Malva moschata the musk mallow more a wild flower than a weed - generally well behaved but it does seed itself around, so if you don't want loads more of them prompt deadheading is needed. By the way there is also a white version.

I'd leave it if it on the allotments. Dianebulley told us last year that it deters cabbage whites from laying eggs on brassicas. She sent me one to try and it certainly worked. And weed or not its a very pretty little thing and not invasive.
