We've just had to have our garden area redesigned because the 8ft high wall that formed the original boundary had collapsed.

We now have a 3ft wall with an earth bank rising about another 5ft yo the level of the grassed area of the garden.

There was a chaos of well established shrubs in the border formed by the original wall and I'd like to replace these if possible, but would love some advice on what to plant to give this area structure, colour, interest and mean the least possible maintenance.
