Considering the recent Legionnaires' Disease topic in the news do you consider there is a risk to gardeners by keeping water barrels in gardens. I have a total of 8 x 200ltr barrels all linked together and its my only source of piped water.

If you mean the item about screen wash necessary for cars to avoid legionnaires, it grows in there because of the heat from the engine - as Dido says, it needs good temperatures in order to multiply.

Apparently the organism can only thrive in water temperature 25 - 45 deg C
