A neighbour gave me some seed heads of a plant but I don't know what it is! Can anyone help, please? It grows wild on Scottish mountains; is low growing with silvery green leaves; has a white flower with 5 (?) petals; seed head resembles a dandelion clock. Thanks!

Sounds very much like Dryas (mountain avens). The leaves are rather like oak leaves, And13? Whilst 'octopetala' indicates eight petals the number is rather variable.
