Any ideas - What's this plant 'popping-up' between the camellia and the st johns wort? It doesn't look as though it belongs to either as the leaves seem to be much bigger - but I suppose it might?
Thanks in anticipation.

Many thanks to Sunburngirl, Badfish and Bamboo for answers. Hopefully now I'll know a laurel when I see one!

looks a bit like a laurel but not easy to say. it might be from the camellia. why not carefully scrape away the soil and see if the roots join on to the camellia.

Prunus laurocerasus seedling - recommend you get it out while you still can, unless you want a 20 feet by 25 feet shrub there...

How do I say thanks?
