I know that the Magnolia Grandiflora will grow up to 25m but at what rate will it grow by each year?

Perhaps in Southern Louisiana and Mississippi (what an excuse to use that word!) it may reach it's maximum. In this country, it needs a sheltered spot, ideally against a south wall. Many free standing specimens will have been severely damaged after the winter just gone. I notice you live in North Yorkshire!

All I can tell you is that, after ten years, it will be 3 x 3 m, but the ultimate height according to my books is 15m rather than 25m.
