Small apples

I bought a bramley apple tree last year. This spring there was a lot of blossom and there are lots of apples. I have no idea why, but they haven't grown and are about the size of large golf balls. They have a pink tinge that has just appeared on the top of each apple. Is something wrong with the apples. Am at a loss as to why they haven't grown.
The tree itself appears healthy.

In fact advice for new trees is not to allow them to fruit at all in the first year so their energy can be concentrated on growing a good root system.

Young tree, too many apples. Pink tinge often means they are getting ripe.
Next time after any fall off in June (the June drop) thin the remaining fruit so there is one in each cluster. When the tree is bigger you can leave more apples on.
