Need to dig up my cordyline and replant but not sure
how deep the roots will be. It is very leafy but not very tall. I have dug about 18 inches and still roots there.
Can anyone tell me how much more I need to dig please.

Not really - need to know how long its been in the ground and precisely what you mean by 'not very tall'.
