It does doesn't it? Any further info would help - where did you get it and were there any instructions with it?

Even bulbs that can be grown for one season using only water, such as hyacinths are not submerged, they are put in a narrow necked container and only the roots grow down into the water, otherwise the bulb quickly rots. So without knowing more, particularly whether you bought it as a water plant, it will not be possible to give you advice. I hope somebody here can recognise it.

Hi, there are quite a lot of aquatic plants that grow from bulbs, but I have never grown any, so don't recognise this, sorry, Derek.
