what do you do after the bloom is finished?

Answers
For a Dahlia? Just dead head the pointed buds (these have finished) and leave the ones with the blunt ends (these are yet to open). At the end of the season you can cut back to ground level.
I'm sure Amblealice misread this question as I know she grows Dahlia's.
