Can someone ID this shrub? for me.
It has Red Leaves & Green Leaves and now it has a Purple flower, the Bud is a pinky red.

I agree with Badfish, certainly looks like Tibouchina urvilleana - hardy in Zone 11, which certainly isn't us, we're all zone 8 mostly in the UK

Thank You for ID my plant, it was my Son inlaws & when he was moving we dug it up for my garden, I have had it in a plant pot for 8mths now, its been outside all through the winter and into the summer Badfish :o))

MELASTOMA MALABATHRICUM or Indian rhododendron in my opinion

Crikey, that's nice. How long have you had it outdoors ? it's not a shrub that i recognise but it does look very similar to a tropical shrub i used to grow called Tibouchina.
