Woodland area

We moved here 2yrs ago. I have inherited a nice woodland glade but so far have just kept it tidy. I decided yesterday it needed a major overhaul and have now virtually cleared it. Not much done right at the back and I have ripped out a couple of little bushes. Except for a lot of bulbs, now hidden, of course, and a centrally placed Japanese Maple, it is virtually bare. Suggestions please for suitable planting for this shady
area.

There are hardy geraniums that will take some shade, too. Look at G. nodusum. G. maculatum or G. macrorrhizum.
Take a look at 'shade plants' under 'S' at the bottom of this page, too. Lots and lots, as Dido says! Bernard listed the plants in his woodland area - try that! You'll be spoilt for choice. :-)
