I live in Carrollton Ky and we just spotted this huge caterpillar outside our shop. Any idea what it is? Thank You.

Hi, welcome to GoY, just done a quick search, it would appear to be a Citheronia regalis, or Hickory horned devil, see what anyone else thinks, Derek.

Just had a look and I agree with Derek. It is harmless and is the larva of the Regal moth or regal walnut moth.its the largest silkmoth in the USA.

There's one crawling about on a girl's hand on youtube - its mahoosive! It must be an enormous moth, would give me a heart attack if it flew in my direction.
