hello people i hope your enjoying this lovley weather today . right to the point . a friend of mine was showing me his plant he said he baught as a honeysuckle . i wonderd if one of you lovley people could help . i stuck my neck out and said i dont think the plant is a honeysuckle as the flowers are wrong and the leaves are to big and directly aposed to each other . the yellow flowers dont smell realy either and im sure all honeysuckles smell lovley . please put me out of my missery so i can go round and say i told you so lol. take care bye for now .

no its not a honeysuckle
Ive got one similar to this in my front garden , i call it my buttercup shrub because the flowers look like large buttercups.
The only thing is with mine is that it does not have the long staimons in the centre.
Plus mine does not smell neither

brilliant thank you so much hijuju .they do look like buttercups your right .these are actualy about the same size if not smaller than buttercups as it goes but im thinking they are related.

Its a Hypericum of some variety, can't say which cos I can't see the whole shrub to determine size and growth habit.

We have this variety in our garden its Hypericum inodorum ' Elstead ' and the flowers are followed by bright orange red fruits in autumn.
