i have a shrub/bush that is growing in my garden,i have lived here for 15years and i havent planted it it started to grow about 5years ago it is now about 10ft tall and spreading all down my garden like a triffid,tho it provides a good border cover i need to know if it is harmful,its stems are not woody but tubular the leaves are green ivy shaped with long shrimp like bracts pink to dark purple there are round dark berries at the ends of the flowers,the bees enjoy them,please can you help as no one seems to know what they are thank you mr barratt leicester

It sounds like Himalayan honeysuckle - Leycesteria formosa.
Cut it down in late autumn and it will grow 5 -6 feet again in the following year.

Also look up 'Japanese Knotweed' on the internet browser and see if that matches your shrub.
