Oily creatures on Cherry Blossom?
Hi all
Anyone got any idea what these oily creatures are on my cherry blossom tree? On the top side of most of the leaves and not sure what they are or how to get rid of them.......
Can anyone help on both counts please?
Thanks

Cherry Slug. Larva of a saw fly.

Spray with a contact insecticide while they're still present - they pupate in the soil beneath, so catch 'em before they do that.

Thanks all, very helpful and now I know what to do....twice a year apparently!

Could be just a bird dropping. Do you have a photo of a few more for comparison? Also could be a caterpillar or pupa that mimics a bird dropping.
