I bought a sunflower plant a few days ago and after only a few hours it began to wilt. I asked for advise on how to save it, but unfortunately I think I was to late.
The flower on the top has died but the leaves look healthy and there are two flowers in bud on the stem which look healthy. Is it advisable to cut the flower on the top off or do I leave it to rot?

The flowers of the dwarf kinds usually only last a few days anyway.

« I have a sunny border packed with perenials and shrubs. No space inbetween plants....
Next question
Did you give it plenty of water, perhaps it was in a spot that was too hot and sunny ..... a combination of both of them would make it wilt.
I'd cut the flower off and the other flower buds will probably be fine.
