I am at the planning stage! I would like to have a "box" hedge as part of that design but don't know how many plants I will need (Per foot/yard or metre)
Any help would be gratefully received.

Ian xx
P.S. I am planning now to start next spring so I have plenty of time to get some plants started! Lol

Ian, the rule of thumb that I learned was to plant the plants no closer than 1/2 the planned height. So, if a hedge 150 cm tall is wanted, plant the bushes 75 cm apart or more. One half the height gives you the fastest fill in, without having to pull out every other one after the first few years. It's a good idea to plan on the hedge being at least as thick at the base as 1/2 the height, too.
