i have been told that you can cut down an australis that is 20 metres to within 6 metres and it will shoot again, can you confirm this please

Sometimes they will, and sometimes they won't, Alfie. Usually the larger and older they are, the less likely they are to resprout--and that's an incredible height for a Cordyline!
