My lawn is in a very bad way, badly needs scarifying and aerating. Can this still be done when the lawn is very damp (we've had a lot of rain). Also is it possible to hire electric scarifiers, as I am a not really young enough or fit enough to do it myself.

yes to all questions really. several places hire out equipment on a do it your self basis. just read the instructions carefully.

Hi, I agree with Sbg, just make sure you do it on a dry day, because if you hire a scarifier, it will in all probability be an electric one, but you will be amazed how much moss and thatch it will get out, and you will probably look at it and wonder if you've gone too far, but don't worry, it will be fine, and look all the better for it next year, Derek.

Thank you both, I will investigate where they hire scarifiers out locally and get to it. Thanks again.
