Well I don't know, but if you're fonder of the tree than the annoying wrappy bush, get the bush clipped right back and even dig up the roots to get rid of it properly if you like. Replace with something less invasive that you enjoy looking at. I don't think the tree can be too happy with the current situation?!

Need a closer pic to ID what the shrub is, but just cut it back away from the tree, whatever it is. Leaves are too small in the picture for ID purposes, close up please.
