will alpines plants last all year

On plant Viola cornuta

Answers

Not quite sure what you mean, Guest, but most alpine plants sold in the garden centers are perennial, ie they will come back next year. More specifically, Viola cornuta is an evergreen perenial that has a long flowering period throughout the summer. It will also self-seed around so it will need some control.
