Does anyone know where I can buy a lightweight ladies garden fork, preferably a centre tread fork? Around the Tamworth, Staffs area of the UK or to buy online. Thanks

Remember if it is light weight you'll only be able to use for light digging.

have a look at this site: www.carryongardening.org.uk - they offer a lightweight centre tread fork and spade, or Google 'lightweight centre tread fork' and it should come up as one of the options. Don't know how lightweight they are myself, never tried 'em. They appear to have oval metal shafts, but in my experience, full sized forks are lighter if they have wood shafts, not metal.

Thanks for that folks. I did try the "carry on gardening" site but only got info about the actual site, not about any products. I'll give it another go and also visit garden centres when I get to the UK ?

Gwen, I just googled 'centre tread fork' without the lightweight part, and their site, with the relevant page, came up. They have two options, one's lightweight, one isn't so much.

Any large garden centre. There's a Wyvale GC near to Hinckley (not too far from Tamworth) and a Dobies at Atherstone. Or plenty of smaller (independent GCs) closer to Tamworth where you might get decent advice from someone who knows/understands what they're selling.
I'd take a trip to a GC and try them for weight/height rather than buy online, sight unseen.
