my beetroot leaves are becoming wafer thin and almost clear. what is doing this? Can't see anything obvious. Also my bay tree leaves are curling. Is there an organic environment friendly solution?

There is a genus of Diptera (flies) that specialise in mining the leaves of the Beet family and the Dock families of plants. It's almost certainly one of them.
