How do I care for Grevillea robusta

On plant Grevillea

Answers

These are beautiful Australian plants that turn into really huge trees in their native forests, but are commonly sold as house-plants over here. They are moderately hardy in this country and I have know them to over-winter in a sheltered position without too many problems. When young they will also need additional winter protection from both cold and wet conditions.

They are very drought tolerant, especially once well established, but they do need as much heat as you can possibly supply - a sheltered, south-facing aspect is absolutely essential. Unfortunately they are very unlikely to flower outside in this country, although the foliage is pretty in it's own right.
