Unidentified plant. Growing in pot on balcony. Anyone any idea what the birds have gifted?

My thoughts too.

Thank you so much for your prompt response.
This plant is growing very fast and will almost certainly be too large for my balcony. It looks really healthy, and I don't like the idea of destroying a plant. My sister has a large garden and would be happy to take the plant - if I could give her assurance that it isn't invasive or poisonous.
Would you please indulge me by answering two further questions? Would it withstand re-planting at this time of year. Should it be contained in a pot.
Thank you again

Hi Georgie, elderberry is a bush/tree and can become quite large - probably not something I would want to plant deliberately. It probably appeared on your balcony courtesy of a seed carried by a bird. Contrary to being poisonous the flowers can be used to make elderflower wine, a light summer drink, and the berries to make elderberry wine. Personally, I would bite the bullet and dispose of this plant.
