I thought this was a courgette plant which had no label on it at a charity plant sale. It is obviously a squash but have I picked it too soon - there were four on the plant about the same size, is it edible and does anyone know what type it is?

Thank you V - I love courgettes but none of the ones I bought at the sale are the conventional type.

Yes, it is a courgette, but just a round type, possibly De Nice a Rond? Good for stuffing and roasting.
