4 fruit trees bought March this year, planted now in tubs and growing well.
Question:- requiring to plant in the ground, when is the best time, and with the soil obviously becoming detached during the move, would there be a problem ?

hello from bulgaria, we planted our own small orchard 3 years ago and our very pleased with the result. September /october seems to be the best time. making whole twice as deep and wide enough, fill with a little compost or mulch and plenty of water then plant the tree. You must water very regulary probably not in the uk, just to ensure its getting the water, also in the spring needs a good feed and probable gentle prune, we didnt prune ours they went sky high! good luck maria
