4 fruit trees bought March this year, planted now in tubs and growing well.
Question:- requiring to plant in the ground, when is the best time, and with the soil obviously becoming detached during the move, would there be a problem ?

I have a similar problem, a plum and an apple in pots which I hoped to plant in april ( bit late but they are in pot) but as the weather has been so hot and dry since I've put them in a shady part of the garden secured against wind damage and been carefully watering them since. I'll wait until the dormant season ( november to march at the latest) and plant them out then
Last year we had to take out a young plum tree and couldn't replant it until early march-- it looks to be ok but all the new trees are taking a lot of time at the moment keeping up with the water they need

I would wait until late autumn or very early spring (when the plants are dormant) and move them then. To make sure there is as little soil loss as possible, stand the pot in a bucket of water for a couple of hours before taking them out.
