can i transplant a well developed yellow clinging ivy

Answers
I lifted and transplanted an ivy a couple of days ago. The roots did get damaged a bit. So I have trimmed back the leaves and stems a long way back. I am hoping it will resettle and rebuild its roots. Then hopefully it will make some more new top growth and get going again. The transplant has set the plant back a long way, but I am optimistic that it will succeed.

If it has been growing for any length of time you will find it difficult to lift the roots without damaging them.
