My foxgloves have finished flowering do I cut them down to the ground now? Should they come up next year? Thank you Sally Delius

Cut the flower spike off unless you want to collect the seeds or let them scatter. Sometimes the plant produces some more, smaller flower spikes if you do. It is described as a biennial so "ought" to die after flowering, but I'm sure I've had plants that lasted longer. This year they mainly seem to be dieing after flowering, but I blame the dry weather.
