Can someone tell me what the shrub is called that is in flower at the moment, please. It has bright gold/yellow petals and seems to be everywhere!

Well I have tried a photo!!!! Hope you can zoom in! The petals are fairly rounded bright gold and the bits in the middle are very pronounced and fluffy!
I think I have heard it called a biblical name in the past, something like Beth Sheba.
Not very helpful I know.

Can't zoom in, unfortunately, if you mean your avatar picture of 'gold shrub'. There's no other pics in your gallery. From your description of the flower, sounds like Hypericum - google it and look at pics.

Hello again Bamboo.
Have googled Hypericum and yes that's what it is.
Thank you.

We could do with a photo please, Pauline - I have Spartium junceum, Hypericum and Brachyglottis in full bloom, and I'm sure that there are a lot more yellow flowered shrubs around, too. How about a description if a photo isn't possible - height, leaves, flower shape?
