United States
I am an artist who has been painting the New Zealand flax plant (phormium) for 15 years. I do not live in CA so need to plan trips to photograph. Usually I drive around for a week where I find flax in shopping malls, people's yards, etc. Do you know where I can find several species in the same location? You can see examples of my paintings at WWW.Elizabethrickert.com -look at the series called Grasses. Thank you

Stunning paintings, Elizabeth! just love the roses and irises!
It's difficult for us in the UK to appreciate the distances involved in the USA but there is a wholesale phormium grower - San Marcos Gowers (see http://www.smgrowers.com/gardens/flaxfield.asp) - in Santa Barbara - only 900 miles from Santa Fe!

On the east coast take a visit to Longwood Gardens located in Kennett Square, PA

P.S. At Longwood Gardens, Phormium is exhibited in one of their conservatories and yes your art does catch that "fleeting moment" in nature. I see that your studio is in New Mexico. Well if you ever find yourself on the east coast, Longwood Gardens will have what you are looking for.

Welcome to GOY. Google Foxtail nurseries in California they have many different phormiums. If that is not in your area google phormiums and your state name and that might help you. As the USA is so big it is difficult for our members to help unless we can narrow your location to a state. I had a look at your amazing paintings. Thank you for sharing with us.
