do i have to cut my geraniams back ti save during winter

If you mean Pelargonium geraniums and not Cranesbill geraniums, then yes, you will need to cut them back for the winter before storing them - but its far too early to be doing that, its done right at the end of the season just before winter sets in, around September/October - actually, where you live, September probably
