Can you solve a mysery plant for me. I have been growing these in my greenhouse and I had them labeled as Vestia, as they have been growing I am now convinced they are not Vestia but a weed!! Can anyone put me out of my misery. Thanks. Polly

Agree, birch seedlings. I would suggest that the Vestia seeds did not germinate but birch seeds blew into the greenhouse and did. Most of my seed pots get the same.

Don't forget that silver birch make wonderful trees! If you dig them up, do so with lots of root and pot carefully so you can give them away to someone with space to grow them, or better still don't dig them up until they are dormant in late autumn when they can be replanted as bare root trees.
