I have just purchased a Maurelli banana plant from ebay. Does any body have any hints as to immediate aftercare?

Only hardy down to about 4 deg. C, so won't winter outside. If grown in a pot, needs to be 18 inches deep by 12 inches wide minimum, feed weekly with something like Miracle Gro general purpose, keep well watered, but not waterlogged, needs as much sun as you can give it, likes temperatures in the high twenties or more.

Thank you very much. It arrived with a rootball about 4 inches in diameter. I potted it in a 6inch pot do you think I should jus keep repotting until I get to the size you suggest. Or should I go straight to the large one?

I know its boring, but you're supposed to just keep potting up, although certainly you could put it into something a bit larger than 6 inches now. The theory is that the unused compost (meaning the excessive quantity surrounding a small rootball) is, possibly, prone to harbouring disease before the plant's roots expand enough to take it all up.

How do I say thanks?
