Saw the beautiful photos of these, how long would it take buying a typical pot grown plant from a nursery for it to reach about 6 ft ? Is it possible to buy larger, mature ones?

This will very much depend on the size of your container but I think it would need to be a reasonable size if you wanted it to reach six feet. It took my shrub about six years planted in the ground to reach six feet.
Some nurseries do stock specimen size plants - check out www.burncoose.co.uk who might be able to supply one (they do mail order)
