I've taken delivery of 20 Alstroemeria plants but am struggling to figure out how to plant them (strange i know) but, they have very long roots but the shoots are sprouting across them? Do I plant them downwards, deep, 0r length wise shallow?

Lynnef, a word of warning, because the roots run about underground they will spread very quickly. Every shoot is potentially a new plant. I would not plant them in amongst cherished plants as they are likely to be swallowed up as the alstromerias are thugs in my garden.

Alstroemeria are rhizomes so plant them lengthways on in the soil about 4 inches deep.
