Hi Kaneemo and welcome of GoY. Need more info before we can help you is your soil acid, alkaline or neutral? If it is alkaline you will need to regularly feed your camellia with an ericaceous feed. Did you plant where early morning sun can get to the shrub whilst it is still frosted? If so that will cause the buds to blacken and fall off before they can flower.

I have a baby one that put on 2 leaves this year. We don't expect anything yet on him.
Another one grows & flowers like crazy....It took time to take off

the success of the buds also depends on lots of water in late summer when they are forming. if it got dry this would alos explain the lack of flowers. flower buds are almost round and fat, leaf buds are more elongated.
