I am overseeding the patches of lawn if you can call it that infront of my pond, what can I use to keep the dog from going on this area until it germinates? I was thinking of pegging down the pond net? Would that work?

I might but the rabbit run around it and do it bit by bit as the rabbit only goes in the run on warm days

I don't 'do' lawns (second on my list to privet) but some years ago I saw a tv programme showing re-seeding a lawn by starting off the germination in a bucket. Fully prepare the lawn area while waiting for the seed to germinate and once it has, lightly rake over the area and scatter the germinated seed.
It's supposed to reduce the need to keep animals away and stops the birds from eating the seed.
I don't know how effective it is though as watching grass grow is lower on my list of thngs to do than watching paint dry.

Haha! I'm experimenting with the seed to see if it works, allegedly it's supposed to come back thick, tough and durable! If not it'll be some turf!!

That's a lovely pond. I'm hoping to put a larger one in my garden this year.

Thanks BlueBell! This is the pond after being enlarged three years ago! It's a bit deeper and wider now! There's loads of photos of it on my page! :)

You can't have a rabbit running around where you have just reseeded!

I took that as the rabbit run minus rabbit.

Could be Urbanite

Yeah the Rabbit only goes in it in the weekends- weather providing. So yeah there's. I rabbit in the run! Just the seed!

Pond netting won't keep your dog off the area, you'll need to set up a barrier so he/she can't get through or not allow them into that part of your garden.
