I had a 'silly old fart moment' today and put compost maker, instead of bone meal, around our shrubs. Will they come to any harm if I leave it? Or should I dig it up? There were no 'ingredients' on the box, so cannot say what chemicals were involved. But the compost maker accelerates the process of compostation when applied to compost heaps/bins.

I think the main ingredients are ground limestone and a nitrogen compound so probably not a good idea to put it round acid lovers.

If it was garotta, that contains ammonium sulphate (acidifying), ground limestone (alkalysing) and lignite (no idea) together with nitrogen. I can't establish how much nitrogen though... I'd be inclined to contact the company who made your compost accelerator and try to get further info.

How do I say thanks?
