I have white spots on my Aspidistra, can anyone help.

A photo showing the problem would be useful, but without one, are the white spots within the tissue of the leaf, or sitting on top, white and fluffy? Do they look like mildew, or lumps of cotton? Is the plant showing any other symptoms? How long have you had the plant? Have you moved it or changed its watering regime recently?
