Morning folks, do bumble bees nest in pots?
I seem to have a bumble bee checking out a terracotta pot. It is very persistent and I was wondering if I were to place some moss ( we have lots) inside it, do you think it might nest there?
Also, where is the best place to put it? I have it on the path and I'm not sure I like the idea of hanging out my washing in the centre of a bee flight path lol.
Last year the bumbles made homes in the house's exterior wall.
Thx and hope you all had a lovely Easter.

Thanks for your reply. I shall move it to a shady copse and hope it gets inhabited.

Bees do make nests in pots. Solitary bees make a nest from leaves for the grub to live in. Out of the sun where it can be left alone is the best place for them.
