Rabbits, I'm told, have a strong sense of smell, what can I put down to deter them. A rabbit fence is useless where I live.

Dried chilli flakes and/or hot chilli powder.....once bitten!
you have to keep adding some more when it rains, i think they learn that the smell is painful

And try selecting rabbit proof plants for the garden too - there are lists of them on the internet - just type rabbit proof plants into Google.

Not heuchera they love those new leaves ?
although since the weathers warmed up its not been such a problem

Thank you, I have sprinkled dried chilly flakes and put cloves of garlic in the soil by the vulnerable plants. We'll see what happens!
